Electrical Engineering
About this role
About the Role We're looking for skilled electrical engineers to help train and improve cutting-edge AI models. Your deep technical knowledge will directly shape how AI reasons through complex engineering problems — from circuit analysis to signal processing — making a real impact on the future of intelligent systems. - Organization: Alignerr - Type: Hourly Contract - Location: Remote - Commitment: 10–40 hours/week What You'll Do - Design Challenging Problems — Create advanced electrical engineering problems across domains such as circuit analysis, power systems, signal processing, electromagnetics, and control systems to rigorously test AI performance - Author Gold-Standard Solutions — Write precise, step-by-step technical solutions that serve as benchmarks for AI learning and reasoning - Audit AI Outputs — Evaluate AI-generated code, circuit diagrams, and mathematical proofs for technical accuracy, safety, and adherence to engineering standards (e.g., IEEE, NEC) - Improve AI Reasoning — Identify logical errors and gaps in AI-generated engineering reasoning, then provide structured feedback that helps models think more accurately - Push Model Limits — Challenge AI on topics like embedded systems, VLSI, telecommunications, robotics, and engineering simulations — documenting failure modes to harden model reasoning Who You Are - Pursuing or completed a Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field - Strong foundational knowledge in one or more core areas: VLSI, control systems, telecommunications, power electronics, or signal processing - Able to communicate highly technical concepts clearly and concisely in written form - High attention to detail when reviewing mathematical equations, circuit logic, and technical documentation - Self-motivated and comfortable working independently on an asynchronous, flexible schedule - No prior AI experience required Nice to Have - Experience with data annotation, data quality, or AI evaluation workflows - Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, SPICE, Simulink) - Background in standards compliance or technical writing Why Join Us - Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside world-leading AI research labs - Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule, anywhere in the world - Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and global collaboration - Gain rare, hands-on exposure to how advanced large language models are trained and evaluated - Contribute to meaningful work that shapes how AI handles real-world engineering challenges - Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
