You'll work with realistic, real-world security scenarios to help AI systems learn how to think like a seasoned AppSec engineer: identifying what's actually exploitable, what's noise, and how to prioritize and remediate risk effectively. Your expertise directly shapes how the next generation of AI reasons about software security. - Organization: Alignerr - Type: Hourly Contract - Location: Remote - Commitment: 10–40 hours/week What You'll Do - Analyze real-world application security scenarios across code, APIs, and system behavior - Classify and evaluate vulnerabilities including authentication flaws, injection risks, business logic issues, and more - Assess secure coding practices and remediation strategies for accuracy and effectiveness - Create and validate security-focused reasoning datasets that teach AI how to assess and prioritize application risk - Apply your practical judgment to distinguish genuinely exploitable flaws from theoretical or low-impact findings Who You Are - 2+ years of hands-on experience in application, product, or software security - Solid familiarity with the OWASP Top 10 and common production vulnerabilities - Able to think like an attacker — you know the difference between a real exploit and a theoretical edge case - Strong written communicator who can explain complex security reasoning clearly and concisely - Self-motivated and comfortable working independently on flexible, task-based assignments Nice to Have - Experience with penetration testing, bug bounty programs, or secure code review - Background in DevSecOps or product security engineering - Familiarity with AI systems, red-teaming, or security evaluation frameworks Why Join Us - Work directly on frontier AI systems alongside top research labs - Fully remote and flexible — work on your schedule, at your pace - Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and global collaboration - Make a meaningful impact by helping AI reason about security the way the best practitioners do - Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
