About the Role We're looking for native Portuguese speakers with a background in language teaching or assessment to help evaluate and improve AI systems trained on Portuguese-language content. Your linguistic expertise and pedagogical insight will directly shape how AI understands, generates, and teaches Portuguese — making a real impact on one of the world's most widely spoken languages. - Organization: Alignerr - Type: Hourly Contract - Location: Remote - Commitment: Minimum 15 hours/week, fully asynchronous What You'll Do - Evaluate AI-generated Portuguese speech and text for linguistic accuracy, naturalness, and educational quality - Assess learner speech and writing across proficiency levels from CEFR Pre-A1 through B2+ - Identify learner errors, unnatural phrasing, and pedagogical gaps with expert judgment - Suggest improvements for clear, idiomatic, and culturally appropriate Portuguese - Provide structured, actionable feedback that improves AI tutoring and language-learning models - Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and fellow language experts Who You Are - Native-level proficiency in Portuguese - Experience teaching Portuguese or evaluating learner language - Fluent in English (C1/C2 level) - Familiar with learner speech patterns and CEFR frameworks - Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor's degree or higher - Strong attention to detail and consistency in linguistic judgment - No prior AI experience required Nice to Have - Experience with language assessment, curriculum design, or standardized testing - Exposure to AI-powered language tools or educational technology - Knowledge of regional Portuguese variations (Brazilian, European, etc.) - Comfort working independently in structured, asynchronous workflows Why Join Us - Work on cutting-edge AI projects with top research labs - Fully remote and asynchronous — work on your own schedule, from anywhere - Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and global collaboration - Contribute to meaningful work that improves AI for Portuguese speakers worldwide - Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
