About this role

Overview We’re looking for an experienced Management Consultant to help train AI models. You’ll test the newest models on business problems from your own practice, judge what they produce with a consultant’s eye, and tell us exactly where they hold up and where they fall apart. This is a new and fast-growing area, focused on teaching AI to think like a top-tier strategy advisor. The models can already generate polished-looking slides and reports. What they can’t yet do reliably is tell a sharp recommendation from a generic one. Your judgment, standards, and written rationale become the signal that shapes the next generation of AI business tools. What you’ll actually do - Write client-style briefs from engagements you know well (a market-entry assessment, a competitive landscape, a due diligence memo, a cost-reduction plan) and run them through AI models. - Review each response like an associate’s work before it reaches a partner: problem framing, structure, analytical rigor, insight, storyline, and whether it answers the client’s question. - Flag concrete issues such as unsupported claims, faulty numbers, buried recommendations, or vague AI-sounding conclusions, and explain your reasoning. - Compare responses head-to-head and pick the one you’d put in front of a leadership team. Problems draw on whatever you know best: - Strategy: market entry, growth, portfolio, and competitive positioning. - Market research: sizing, competitor benchmarking, and customer segmentation. - Leadership communications: board decks, steering-committee updates, and one-pagers. - Operations and transformation: process redesign, PMO, and program management. - Transactions: commercial due diligence, deal advisory, and investment theses. Roles this fits Common backgrounds: Strategy Consultant, Management Consultant, Deal Advisory Consultant. What we look for - Fluency in English (native or bilingual level). - Professional experience in management consulting, strategy, PMO, or deal advisory. - Experience at a top strategy firm, Big Four advisory practice, or boutique consultancy is a strong plus. - Skilled at building and critiquing work for senior stakeholders. - Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills. - A current, in-progress, or completed MBA or other postgraduate degree is preferred but not required. - Only applicants based in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, or the United States will be considered for this role. About this role

Are you a hands-on enterprise network engineer — Level 3 / Tier 3 support, network operations, or the person your team escalates to — interested in data science and autonomous infrastructure? Our client is building vertically integrated networking systems and using the data they generate to power the next generation of AI-driven infrastructure. They're looking for engineers experienced in troubleshooting, escalations, packet analysis and RCA workflows to help label, annotate, and structure networking data from real production systems. This is a hands-on role that blends your troubleshooting and incident-response experience with a growing understanding of how data pipelines are built and used in AI systems. About this talent network This is an ongoing talent network rather than a single open vacancy. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and interview rounds run periodically as the client opens new headcount. Completing the technical practicum now means your profile is ready to be put forward as soon as the next round opens — there's no need to reapply later. In this role, you'll: - Review real-world data from deployed networks: logs, configs, telemetry, event streams - Label and classify network behaviors, issues, anomalies, and incident patterns - Help define schemas and structure for large-scale data pipelines that downstream ML models will train on Must have: - Hands-on experience operating enterprise production networks — switches, access points and firewalls — in end-customer environments such as retail, healthcare, financial, manufacturing, university or hospitality - At least 5 years of experience in network engineering, network operations or network support roles - Currently, or most recently, working in a hands-on network engineering, network operations or network support role Strongly preferred: - Experience as an escalation point for network incidents — Tier 3, final escalations, on-call rotation, RCAs, troubleshooting outages - Hands-on enterprise Wi-Fi — WLAN controllers (Cisco WLC/9800, Aruba, or Meraki), 802.1X / RADIUS, and wireless troubleshooting - Packet-level troubleshooting you do yourself — Wireshark, tcpdump, SPAN captures - Exposure to a wide variety of network environments, vendors and customer types — whether through an MSP, VAR or systems integrator, or a single enterprise with a genuinely diverse estate - Networks operated across multiple sites or a large campus environment - Curiosity about how raw infrastructure data becomes machine learning input This is a maintainer role — likely not the right fit if your current work is mainly network design/architecture, cloud/SRE, security/SOC, or IT helpdesk. Your work will directly feed into the pipelines that power client's AI models, and help shape how intelligent systems reason about networks in the real world. Here are more details about the role: - You will interface directly with the client team. - You are expected to work 30-40 hours/week, with your hours overlapping the Pacific (PT) business day. - This is an individual 1099 contract paid to a personal account — no corp-to-corp or agency billing. - You must be authorized to work in the US or Canada without sponsorship. Please note this project cannot accommodate F-1 STEM OPT, as Mercor is unable to sign Form I-983. Standard F-1 OPT is fine.

About this role

Mercor is seeking experienced software engineers at companies that serve retail investors for a short, paid expert interview on behalf of a leading AI company building financial intelligence products. In a single 45–60 minute conversation, you will share how engineering teams like yours evaluate, choose, and integrate third-party APIs and AI vendors. This is a good fit for backend, integrations, or platform engineers (or hands-on tech leads and engineering managers) at online brokerages, investing apps, robo-advisors, neobanks with investing, wealth platforms, or brokerage infrastructure providers. --- What You'll Do - Join one 45–60 minute remote interview at a time that works for you. - Walk through how your team evaluated or shortlisted an outside API or AI vendor (e.g. market data, news/research, identity, or AI chat), and what drove the final decision. - Share what made integrations go well or badly: documentation, reliability, pricing, security and compliance review, and support. - Give candid feedback on what you would want from vendors serving retail-investing products. Please share only your own experience and opinions. You will not be asked for confidential or proprietary information about your employer. --- Requirements - Currently employed in-house (not freelancing or consulting) as a software engineer, backend or integrations engineer, platform engineer, tech lead, or engineering manager who is still hands-on. - Work at a company that reaches retail investors, such as an online brokerage, investing app, robo-advisor, neobank with investing, wealth platform, or brokerage infrastructure provider. - Work on the retail product side, not institutional, hedge fund, or asset management desks. - Evaluated or integrated a third-party API or AI vendor in the past 12 months (or will soon). - Involved in choosing the vendor (helped evaluate or shortlist), not only building it after the decision was made. --- Nice to Have - Integrated market data, news, research, or AI chat features. - Experience across different company sizes or seniority levels. --- Why Join? - Paid for your time, with a flexible, one-time commitment that fits alongside your current role. - Share your perspective to help shape AI and data products built for retail investors.
